stitch78 Posted May 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2006 Carnival offers one that is $55 pp Enjoy a swift boat ride to the pristine island of Gibbs Cay. Don your snorkel equipment and immerse yourself in the crystal clear water. Explore the beautiful coral reef and its colorful inhabitants that lie approximately 50 yards from the beach. Play with the friendly stingrays in the shallow water right off the beach. Move back to land and search for treasure or the elusive Osprey. Witness the art of cleaning a conch, a local delicacy and tradition. Enjoy a complimentary beverage as you relax in the white sandy beach. Is it worth it? Any experiences? BRCrusier Posted June 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2006 I went on the Stingray encounter. If you have been on the Stingray City tour at Grand Caymen this does not compare. We went on the 9-11 tour and there were only 2 Stingrays. The tour guides said that more come around noon when the dovers are there. It was a nice beach and we enjoyed the time there snorkeling but just not enough Stingrays for me. There really isn't a lot on Grand Turks yet. If you enjoy hanging out by the pool listening to music that is probably a good option. I'm glad we took the tour even without the Stingrays. stitch78 Posted June 2, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted June 2, 2006 Thanks for the info. I think we'll still do it since what else would we do there for 6 hours, right? This only takes up a couple hours though. So it's pretty much snorkeling then seeing some stingrays but not really swimming with them?
BRCrusier Posted June 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2006 You are in the water with the 2 that were there and you can touch them and try to feed them.
