tboss Posted May 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2006 Since so much of the reefs were destroyed, thus detrimental to snorkeling, what other excursions have you enjoyed?
cozgal Posted May 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2006 Just wanted to clarify that most of the damage was to the shallower reefs and coral heads. If you are willing to go the deeper sites via boat, the snorkeling is still excellent. There is still lots to see at the shallower sites in terms of marine life but not what it was. solita Posted May 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2006 Like the previous post states, the reefs are still good. And it depends on what you like to do for other suggestions.
snorkel_dentist Posted May 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2006 I didn't try it myself, but a family we met on our Carnival cruise in April went to Paradise Beach and took their Cozumel snorkeling tour. They said it was great, their daughter was thrilled because she saw a turtle and - like Cozgal and Solita say - they said the reef is much better on the boat trips. Has anyone else tried this tour? Think I'll give it a go next time, it's only 2 hrs, but $35 is a lot cheaper than most the cruise ship tours! Janice in Oregon
