Mykonos and Santorini - Best way to spend the day

Recommended Posts

Is the beach at the town good, or do we need to go to Paradise beach? I saw from here that Paradise beach is very crowded, any alternative? It would be great if the beach in the town is good, don't wanna go to any other place and miss the beautiful sunset.

Partadise isn't the only beach.

The advice used to be something like this:

Platys Gialos - a family beach, very nice, easy bus ride from town;

Paradise - a nude beach! - easy bus ride from town;

Super Paradise - a GAY nude beach!! - get the bus to Paradise & walk around the headland to the east, and you'll find it;

and there was a fourth beach, but no-one talks about that one.....

Seriously, these days all the beaches are crowded with ordinary folk. Platy Gialos is indeed a 'family' beach - you'll find a higher proportion of older people, or familes with young children there. You won't find beach msic bars, but there are restaurants & cafes at the back of the beach.

Paradise & Super Paradise are mainly aimed at a younger crowd, and as such have facilities like noisier beach bars, music on the beach, etc. Good beaches, though.

And there are other beaches further along the south coast ofthe island which are less developed and as such are perhaps more likely to be where the nudists will go.

Here's a link to a site about Mykonos, with pictures of the beaches:
