08/28/06 majesty Typical weather in august ??

How's the weather in late august, sailing Aug 28th to the bahamas ? does anyone know if the water will be nice? anyone else sailing w/ us? it's just me and my DH (first cruise!!)

Should be pretty hot and humid and the water should still be pretty warm. Enjoy your first cruise!

Was on the Majestry last August, I beleive the same week as you. Weather was hot especially in Key West. Bahamas was a beautiful day. Water in Coco Key was warm but a bit rough. However we were givin an extra day at sea due to Hurricane Katrina. We were supposed to arrive back in Miami on a Friady but that was the day all the ports were shut due to Katrina's landfall so we were brought back to the piers late Sat morning about noon. Never were we ion any danger. The captain was excellent & gave us detailed updates as soon as he got them. I think everyone was off the ship by 1pm. The people waiting to get on for their 3 day cruise had a 2 day instead.
