My husband and I are book on the Rhaspody of the Seas in October. It is a western carribean route that will be stopping in Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. How is the weather this time of year?

Thanks

We went on Navigator of the Seas in November '03 to all of those islands you mentioned and the weather was great. I would imagine October would be just as nice but you do run the possability of a hurricane and may get diverted to other islands. If you are taking the chance of traveling during hurricane season, make sure you buy travel insurance. We cruised last October when Hurricane Wilma hit and got delayed...thank god for insurance!

We were on Princess Sun last year when Wilma hit and we never had any problem. The Western has more of a chance of port changes, but I would do it in a heart beat, but husband has been told no more vacations for him in October due to hurricane cleanup. So this year he had to change time of going.

Last year we were on RCI Enchantment cruising the Western Caribbean in October. The weather changed dramatically when we reached Belize. It actaully turned very cool and overcast. We didn't realize at the time, but "Wilma the Witch" was stirring just south of Cuba.

Only days after we returned to Ft Lauderdale Wilma hit South Florida. Contractors just started our roof repair this week. It seemed as if Wilma literally followed us back to Fort Lauderdale from the Caribbean.

In short, you just never know about October. Your hurricane chances then are roughly the same as in August. September is the worst. I say take the chance. Book your cruise but be sure to buy trip insurance.
