1:00 flight out of San Juan

Recommended Posts

You should be fine.....

if there are no problems you will have plenty of time to make your flight....

have heard stories of late debarkings, strikes, electricity going out at terminal etc.... but they are rare....

we were off Serenade by 10:30 and at the airport and thru checkin (that was a unique experience - they have their own way of checkin) by lunch. We then waited in the nice lounge area and ate lunch and played Texas Hold em with pretzels until it got closer to our flight at 3:07. Security was not bad at the time we went thru either but it was later.....

If you are flying American Airlines you can precheck-in while on the ship and also they will take your luggage at the dock .....use it if you are flying with them......I believe it is $10.00 per person ....

You should easily clear the ship and be at the airport with plenty of time to spare. Not much to see at San Juan airport anyway. We've flown from San Juan to Boston several times with flights prior to 1pm after disembarking an RCCL ship.

1:00 flight should be fine. After 3 cruises from San Juan, we have always been at the airport no later than 10:00.

Tip: Leave your cruise line baggage claim tag on your luggage. You should not need to run your bags through the scanner before checking them in with the airline.

We had alot of problems getting off in San Juan because of immigration computer problems and we were still at the airport by 11:45 and we weren't hurrying as we had a 2:30 flight. You should be fine!

When it comes to the San Juan airport, the least amount of time you spend there, the better. We were stuck sitting in there for 6 hours. There were people sleeping all over the floors. It seemed as 1/2 the airport is deserted, and the other 1/2 is overcrowded with not enough seating. I walked a good mile or 2 for Pizza in the airport.
