Az_Redneck Posted May 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2006 I read this is before the formal dinner. Are drinks cheaper or are they the same as the beverage menu? What would be the purpose of going to this unless you wanted to get buzzed before dinner? Are there appetizers? So many questions and so little time.. :D
Cotton Posted May 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 22, 2006 The Captain's Cocktail Party is very nice. I wouldn't miss it. It's held in the main showlounge about an hour before your assigned dining time. You can meet the Captain and Cruise Director at the entrance to the party. He introduces his officers on stage, a band plays, and it's a nice way to start Formal Night. There is no charge for any beverages at this party. There will be waiters walking around with trays of various cocktails and wine. There is a bar set up in that lounge, and if you'd like, you can go up to that bar and order your drink of choice - no charge. You can have as many beverages as you like. I usually take two glasses of wine off the tray at one time, so I don't have to wait for the second one.;) Other waiters will be passing around a variety of hors d'oeuvres.
