drefinnej15 Posted May 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2006 Does anyone know if you take money off your RCCL SeaPass account in the casino if it gets charged as a cash advance to your credit card or just an ordinary credit card transaction. I know if you use your credit card directly in the casino you will get hit with the cash advance immediately --but how does it work taking money off the ship account? I just want to be sure if all ship charges (including the casino) are lumped into one final bill on my credit card therefore the credit card company wouldn't even see the cash advance....Anyone with an actual experience on this with this particular cruiseline? We leave 6/17 for the Med on Voyager of the Seas....Can't wait!!! Host Karen Posted May 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2006 I'm moving your question to the main Royal Caribbean board, where I think you have a better chance of getting an answer from someone who may have done this before.

isujim Posted May 23, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 23, 2006 I got $100 on my seapass last month on the Mariner...........on my final sea pass charges bill.........I think it showed up as "entertainment" and was lumped in with all my other charges..........I think this is what you want to know..........it's just like charging Bingo, drinks, wine or whatever as far as RC is concerned. J&SLowery Posted May 23, 2006 #6 Share Posted May 23, 2006 Jim is correct. It is like a purchase....not a cash advance (thus, no cash advance fees). Many people use this as a way to get cash advance for free. Jay
logan1_2000 Posted May 23, 2006 #7 Share Posted May 23, 2006 minor issue to keep in mind is many co-branded affinity cards do not provide whatever rewards points or miles for cash advances, just purchases. So if that matters, rest easy, casino cash will be viewed as a purchase for rewards point purposes. and for the RCI Visa, those are double points...;)

cruisinMike Posted May 23, 2006 #9 Share Posted May 23, 2006 Yes I agree with the above postors that this is not a cash advance. It will just show up as part of your bill (line item) on your seapass that is charged to your credit card under the RCI umbrella.
springtxbill Posted May 23, 2006 #10 Share Posted May 23, 2006 You can get up to $2000 per day charged to your Seapass that shows up as Casino cashiers as a purchase on the final bill. No service charge and you get those reward points.:)

As a rule, when you buy casino chips with your SeaPass, there is no service fee. They do run the risk of people using the Casino Cashier as an ATM machine but so far their bet is paying off as even though someone is drawing more than they probably had planned to gamble with...they do make a stop at the tables and everything works out for everyone! Good luck.
