wongri Posted May 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2006 Morning all, We are thinking of booking the Feast of LeLe as an alternative to the usual laua in September. Has anyone been to the Feast and is it worth the $109 per person? We are a group of 6. Also, how far is it from where the tender drops you off - walking distance or taxi? Any comments or suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks! Rita
dacook Posted May 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2006 The food is better at Old Lahaina. The drinks are better and plentiful at the Feast. That's the price difference. The feast claims to have the best executive chef, but luau food is wonderful on Maui. You will need to rent a car and drive to Lahaina. It's 40 minutes on a good day. Taxi would be over the top. The best on Oahu is at the Royal Hawaiian (only on Mondays) or PCC (no booze). Hands down for entertainment it's the PCC evening show!
Desertbelle Posted May 24, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2006 Yes, we did the Feast at Lele and it was wonderful....I would highly recommend it. Food was delicious, not normal luau food, more gormet, drinks were great and the location looks right out at the ships at anchor. Here's a picture from our seats during the show and that's the Legend of the Seas at anchor.
spleen93 Posted May 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2006 Margie - Wow! Great picture! As a point of interest, the executive chef for the Feast at Lele is the same as the one for Old Lahaina Luau (James McDonald of Pacific'O and I'O fame) since they're operated by the same company. beachchick Posted May 24, 2006 #5 Share Posted May 24, 2006 wongri: If your ship is at Lahaina and you are tendering in (that's what your first post sounded like; correct?), then you could easily walk to Feast at Lele. When you get off the tender, walk toward the street. That is Front St. Turn right and it's about a 10 minute walk (if that) down to the 505 Front St. complex. For OLL, you would need to take a taxi or have a rental car. That is only about 1-1/2 to 2 miles down Front St. (the other way), but it is not a walk you want to make at night. beachchick
wongri Posted May 24, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted May 24, 2006 Desertbelle - that is an incredable picture! Thanks for sharing. We will be on Serenade of the Seas tendering into Lahaina so I guess we will be able to walk over as it is not that far. Thanks to all for your suggestions and comments. Happy cruising!
