kvlaurie Posted June 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2004 I am giving my daughter a graduation present and going with her on the July 4 sailing of Rhapsody out of Galveston, hitting Key West, Cozumel, Grand Cayman. The "weather.com" channel says rain everywhere. Are we going to be waterlogged? Anything that is critical for us to know?
mledet Posted June 27, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2004 Critical stuff to know: You will be aboard with many wonderful people, and there will be more your daughter's age in our group! Rain or shine, we're sure to have a ball. In case of BAD weather, they will cruise around it. We won't miss a beat. Mae Ann
brn2crz Posted June 27, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 27, 2004 First of all.I would not put too much worry on a weather report this far out! I live just a few miles from Galveston. And we have been waterlogged for the entire months,14 inches in June. And we are about 20 inches over for the year. There is a lot of tropical type weather coming in off the gulf right now,and has been down towards Mexico. Key West in the Summer has frequent rain storms in the heat of the afternoon. I did read of a tropical depression forming somewhere, which may be the reason for the prediction you read(heard).Cruise Lines do a great job of going around storms, and the Captain hates the rain as much as the passengers. More than likely, you will have plenty of Sun to enjoy.
