Rare Terre Posted June 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2004 the next five months! Our cruise is scheduled for December and I am so ready! I don't think I can make it the next five months. What to you do during the months before your cruise to keep from going crazy! I stay on the boards and I look at my Carnival book and every chance I get we eat dinner at a Caribbean restaurant in town (which really make it harder), but I want to go now!!!! Help me make it til December!
NinaCO Posted June 27, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2004 What I tell myself is, if you were going now, it would be OVER next week. Enjoy the anticipation. Soon, the stores will be having their end-of-season sale. That's a great time to plan your cruise wardrobe and buy anything you need. I get some great clothing bargains in July and August. My next cruise is in October, and I booked it a year ago. So, now it seems like it's getting close.
sls Posted June 27, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 27, 2004 Tell me about it, I don't cruise until December either. Since I got back into cruising there was a little over 2 months between my first cruise and second one. 5 months between 2nd and 3rd. Now I'm waiting 7 months between cruises and I can't stand it. sls Destiny 12/2004 Sensation 5/2004 Holiday 1/2004 Conquest 11/2003
dream2much Posted June 27, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 27, 2004 Listen to Jimmy Buffett and / or Bob Marley. Have a foo foo drink while laying in the hammock. Take a quick trip to the beach. Book a short four day cruise. Research shore excursions. Then research some more. Check cruise prices everyday to see if the price has lowered on your sailing. If so, then call the TA. chryl Posted June 28, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 28, 2004 I so no what you mean. we don't sail till nov. the wait is very badddddddd!! Last year we only had about 2 weeks to get ready for are first cruise, that wasn't easy either. I booked about a month ago it's all I think about(really). I'm putting money on my sign and sail card every week so when I go we will already have all the money we need ( I'm a bad saver) .I booked the fall instead of summer because there are alot of things to in the summer, ball -games ,BBQ'S pools, ect. I'll get to cruise right before the crazy holiday maddness starts. Maybe we should start a support group. Travelitis Posted June 28, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 28, 2004 For some ports you can contact their tourist boards and get packets of info sent. Belize sent me a particularly good one last year. Get out the blender and make smoothies. Check travel videos out at the library, and keep an eye on the Travel Channel for cruise shows. Make packing lists. Get your scuba certification or take ballroom dance lessons. The CC boards offer about the best dose of sanity, though. What my signature doesn't say is that we booked the Thanksgiving cruise in Jan. and the July cruise this week. LOL!
Rare Terre Posted June 28, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted June 28, 2004 Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like I already do everything suggested. It's good to know there are others in the same "boat" as me! Those Jimmy Buffett and Bob Marley songs do help! Every time I shop I look at the outfit deciding whether or not it would make a good cruise outfit! I guess this is the problem we have to live with when we book 8 months to a year ahead! Someone said something about the anticipation...I think the anticipation is worse for me the closer it gets!
