Customs / Brooklyn Arrival QE2 Sep'06

Hi,

I am going on the Autumn Colours cruise in Sep/Oct later this year, and wonder if as we are only in NYC for one day, will we still have to endure the long queues and fingerprinting & photos taken as I experienced last November on a Transatlantic crossing on QM2?

My guess is the passport would just get stamped and then we could enter the US seeing as we were 'in transit' so to speak and only staying in the city for only 9 hours or so. Also how long is it by taxi to Manhatten? I don't relish the though of an hour's journey to and from QE2!!!

Kind Regards,

rjms74,

My guess would be that you formally enter the US in Bar Harbor - after that you only call at US ports before NY - so one might hope the formalities on arrival in NY are minimal.....perhaps those who have done the trip know.....
