ourlol Posted May 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2006 Two families... two cars... currently planning to drive to Southampton and leave their cars at the port for the duration of the cruise. We've reserved parking slots with CPS. Can anyone tell us what happens once we arrive. I am assuming we offload our luggage onto trolleys and a member of staff drives the car away for parking. Then what? Does CPS transport us by minibus to the terminal where we check-in or will it be walking distance to the ship? Enquiring minds would love to know? Thanks in advance :) Laura
Morgans Posted May 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2006 We've done this for P&O and always find it works very well. Drive up to the cruise terminal where you pull in (follow signs and instructions which will be sent to you before setting off.) and all get out of car with your luggage. Your luggage will be whisked away in a flash by porters who will be ready and waiting. At more or less exactly the same time a CPS attendant will approach with clipboard & paperwork and you will hand over your keys after signing. Your car is then driven away and parked for you. We have never needed a mimibus as it's only a few yards walk into the terminal for checking in. Obviously you must ensure that nothing is left in the car as it would be very difficult to retrieve anything once it is whisked away. Coming back, you are told where to pick up your car and given directions - not very far to walk and there are plenty of porters/trolleys. It's all very easy and makes a good start to the holiday. Have a lovely time, Marge M
