swannie Posted June 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2006 Can anyone give a more detailed description of these hikes in Skagway? I'm still unclear as to whether either of these hikes takes you near, on or around a glacier? Better yet, does anyone have photos? Thank you. OutdoorsPro Posted June 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2006 You can't get near the Denver Glacier, as it is a "hanging glacier" with the terminus well above the trail. There is a nice waterfall though. The tour that takes you to the Laughton Glacier will also not get "on" the ice, but does get you to a very nice viewpoint; however, if you do the hike yourself you CAN get up to and on the ice, just be very, very careful.
