Thank You!!

Recommended Posts

I just booked our very first cruise and I'm so excited! The cruise is a year away but I figure that time will fly and give me more time to learn as much as possible from you guys! When I first stumbled upon these boards I was brand new and completely clueless to cruises. That was just a couple weeks ago. With all of the information posted and shared I was able to learn what I needed to know to make an informed choice on cruises. Thank you so much for not only taking the time to share your cruise experiences but also for answering all of the questions a newbie brings to the board :)

You are most welcome to any of the information on these boards. We all learn from each other. Is this great or what? Your first Cruise good for you. You are right the time will go by fast and you are In for one great time.

But each time I set sail, there is always something new and exciting to experience! :)

If you don't mind telling us, when/what ship did you book on? Mine is also just under a year away out of NYC!

Happy Cruzin'

We are booked for the Triumph out of Miami June 2, 2007. My youngest son graduates this month and the reality of it all has hit. I wanted at least one more memoriable vacation together as a family. Time flies so fast at this point in life it just seemed like the perfect opportunity to do this. He's very excited ......enough that he's willing to fly which he hates.

It's called CBA (cruise board addiction). It is usually brought on by booking a cruise with a TA. Even though your 12 months away from your cruise, you casually glance once, twice daily checking out your ship, your ports of call. Very soon, you are searching for trip reports of those that are taking your cruise before you. Each post you read prompts new questions, and you crave more and more answers. After 6 months, your family looks at you like you are going a little crazy!

Then you share the daily cruise news (the Caper for Carnival) that you pulled off Webshots for the cruise you will be on with your family. You show your DH the casino, golf, couple's spa offerings ;) , then the kids all the activites, game boys, treasure hunts, midnight movies, pizza parties that they get to do ALL BY THEMSELVES!! You remind DH that with the kids at 'camp' you may actually get some time alone! ;)

Suddenly, your family wants to view all the pics on Webshots of your ship, to plan your days at sea and in port. To peruse the menus posted on line. You look at the cruise counter you posted...under 300 days!, under 200 days, under 100 days! 30 days out! in SINGLE DIGITS!! :D

Cost of a Cruise: can be expensive!

Time spent on CC: Housework will just have to wait!

Look of your face when you first see your ship: PRICELESS!!

THen the best thing of all, when you have had your week of paradise, you can share it with others that will come after you, except now you are answering the questions of a "newbie".

And so goes the circle of the CRUZIN' life!

Happy Cruzin!

Congrats on booking your first cruise.. The only downside to it is that you will be addicted!! I never believed it till it happened to me and it will happen to you too.. The year will fly by and before you know it it'll be time to go.. But thats when the bad part kicks in.. You will find yourself looking to book another cruise as soon as you get off that one.. its a vicious cycle.. Trust me!!.. I wish I had found this board before our first cruise because if I did I would have saved a ton of money.. If I only knew then what I know now.. Its scary..

You will find everyone here most helpful and willing to answer any questions.. Read the reviews and look at the pictures.. it'll help the year go by faster..

Lets put it this way----- Ive never cruised- Not until December 2006 (conquest) but I think I already know just about EVERYTHING there is just by eves-dropping (or high-jacking) other peoples threads...Bless you....:)

My family knows I'm crazy and the addiction part has already sunk in lol When trying to think of a user name I chose the first one that came to mind :) Everything you have said is exactly what I've been doing and I do see it getting worse. Unless someone has cruised before they don't understand the excitement that I'm enjoying with this learning process. They look at me oddly and remind me it's a year away. Well people plan weddings, reuinions, parties etc that far in advance why not a vacation ;) The only part I'm having a tough time with right now is when my family asks a question and I'm able to answer right away based on reading these boards (thank you everyone) they ask me if I'm sure and how I know. I'm going to make them read these boards pretty soon lol!
