Lulley766 Posted June 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2006 We're on the June 23rd sailing of the Crown Princess. Can anyone suggest alternative parking (also known as Plan B) should the Red Hook garage be full? Any help you can offer would be most appreciated. Cheers

There are parking lots on Atlantic Avenue and Adams Street(both inside and out) that can be used but you will then have to take a cab from there. I wouldn't suggest street parking in Red Hook. You will probably get towed. There is alternate side(the three hour kind) of the street parking there and the tickets are $35.00(this is one of the cheapest tickets in NYC) but they do tow. If its says no parking 9-5 or 8-6 those tickets are $110.00 plus towing charge
Lulley766 Posted June 2, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted June 2, 2006 Thanks Smeyer! Our group is commuting from Boston and not being familiar with the area, it makes it a little difficult to plan. The other thing we are keeping in mind, is that the QE2 is the only one sailing from Red Hook right now. We don't know how much traffic there will be once Crown Princess arrives. Do you have any idea if these alternative lots are comprable in price? There's just so many unanswered questions since Princess hasn't started sailing from there yet. Many thanks for your reply. The inside one charges about $20.00 per day. When it snows I sometimes park there. The outside ones I am not sure. You mean the QM 2...there have been other ships already the Golden Princess for one but that was a one way somewhere so very few people parked...Given the Cruise terminal in Manhattan also has very limited parking and has also never been reported full, I ouldn't worry yet...just get there early. Lulley766 Posted June 2, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted June 2, 2006 That seems reasonable. Thanks again for your help. With any luck we are worrying about nothing.
