G&B Posted June 6, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 6, 2006 We ended our cruise in Venice the 22nd of May and there is a left luggage at the docks. A large yellow building is the location of customs, where you pick up your luggage after the cruise, and as you leave there is an area to the right where luggage can be stored for 3 euro per bag. Please note their hours as they close at 6 P.M. Outside the building we found a free shuttle that will take you to the bus station. The shuttle was actually a full sized touring bus with storage space, look for a small sign in the lower left hand corner of the front window. You can also store luggage at the train station 3.80 euro for the first five hours and .60 euro for each additional hour. Walking to the train station with luggage will not be an easy task. calexand Posted June 6, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted June 6, 2006 In your opinion having been there done it. How did you get to the airport after retrieving your bags? We are on the Nautica (Oceania) she will be in port for extra day prior to sailing will be able to use shuttles to Venice.
G&B Posted June 6, 2006 #7 Share Posted June 6, 2006 Go to Marco Polo Airport by taxi around 35 euro or ATVO airport bus about 5 euro. We purchased a ACTV 24 hour pass for 12 euro, this allows you to use the vaporetto to get around Venice and to other areas and then use the ACTV airport bus when you are ready to leave. Allow for enough time at the airport it is small and busy.
