What are the hours of the Flowrider?

No extra charge.

I'd say if your BF would enjoy the FlowRider...Get Out There! :) I've not been on Z, but from what I've read, it's a very different environment from what you'd find on Freedom.

Based on my observations made at the Flow Rider, you should hope that lines will not grow longer.

The protocol seems to work like this. Several hopefuls stand on each side of the Flow Rider. Turns are taken. Once you wipe out, you go to the back of the line. It can take quite a while to go through all the turns, especially if someone is half way decent and lasts more than a few seconds.

The longer the lines, the less time you get. If you are a stark beginner and wipe out fast, much of your time will be spent waiting in line hoping the folks ahead of you wipe out fast. You can have as many turns as time will allow using the system, but an hour goes by lightening fast under these circumstances and unless you are pretty good or become good, your Flow Rider time will be pretty short (but still great fun.)

Here's the caveats. I did not sign up being as I am 62 and wish I were 16, but I didn't dare kill myself on the "surf machine." Thus I do not know if there is a limit to the number of those who can sign up for any one session. My guess is there would have to be some kind of limit or hardly anyone would get more than a minute or two per session...unless they are very skilled.

The second caveat is that I do not know if there is a fee, but most fee-based sports deck activities state that fact in the Cruise Compass and I never saw a mention of a fee. I would be VERY CROSS if I paid a ten buck fee and had only a minute or two of real time in-water experience.

Third caveat: You must sign a waiver to use the Flow Rider. I may be mistaken on this next point, but it seems as though I read that you must sign a waiver every day you use it.

Lastly, I thought the night time under-the-stars session was the best. There was just something special about it and it was very popular. Folks love to watch as much as try the Flow Rider and there are bleachers on three sides of the attraction.

This is accurate.

lovetocruise77 - May I be nosy and ask what is pushing you to consider zuiderdam?

Whoops! My bad. I forgot to say that the guys and gal running the Flow Rider,as I undertsand it are highly experienced riders. They are there to train newbys and supervise and they pay close attention. They are in wet suits and wet much of the time. They know what they are doing.

One night the two guys put on a demonstration of boogie board trick riding that was amazing. I don't think they are just any Crew Director functionaries chosen for Flow Rider duty. These people are specialists. I never saw them in any other activity. If I am wrong, please correct me, but my guess is that they have enough to do running that attraction off and on all day and half the night.
