Diving in Roatan

Anyone dive with Fantasy Island Beach resort? I found them on the web, and they have a nice site and all, but I'd like to see if anyone has used them and see that you all think. The person I talked to on the phone said that the dive shop is only 3 blocks from the port area, is this area safe to walk through? I have a wonderfun DH whose kinda intimidating :D , but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

You may want to try looking at scubaboard.com it is a website similar to this one but for SCUBA divers. Go to "Forums" and you'll find a section for Central and South America.

 

We dove in Roatan with Anthony's Key Resort and absolutely loved it - their reefs are pristine and the people are great.

We used subwaywatersports.com They picked us up at the pier and brought us back. Their shop is located in a beautiful cove. We did a two-tank dive and the prices was reasonable.

 

As far as your question, yes it would be safe to walk. There is some pan handling and you might be followed by some of the kids.
