msunrullieone Posted June 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2006 We are wanting to go on the horseback riding excusion in Jamaica. The book says the minimum age is 7; but my son (age 8) does not want to ride a horse by himself. Has anyone been on this trip, do they allow riders to ride double? Or do they make any accomodations for kids? thanks
cassiesmom Posted June 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2006 Any reputable facility would never allow it. It's too dangerous. Helmets are not mandatory either which is very unsafe and some of the stables don't even have helmuts or they do.... and their are not approved riding helmuts. I say this because I am a horse owner of 2; and when I'm travelling I do love to ride on the beach etc... but I leave my kids with my hubby while I trail ride. I have NO problems riding doubles with my kids on my personal horses. I am very good rider but I would not consider riding doubles on a horse that I don't know.
