Car return to port

There are no car rental companies at Port Everglades. You will probably have to return your car to the airport location and take a taxi (very reasonable). Call Alamo and ask if they still do port shuttles. I don't think so.

Just last April we returned our pre cruise Alamo car to the FLL Airport Rental Car Center. A bus then shuttled us & our luggage free of charge to Port Everglades. The shuttle was carrying people from various rental agencies to various ships. After our Sea Princess cruise we took a complementary shuttle from the port to the Airport rental car center where we picked up our post cruise rental car.

After you return your car to the Airport Car Rental Center, just go to the lounge on the top floor and wait for the shuttle. The free shuttles to the port begin around 11:30 a.m. -noon. Just ask outside where you should line up. There were sofas & comfortable chairs in the lounge that we used because we arrived too early. You do not have to sign up for the shuttle. Just be able to show your receipt or some paper that showed you had a rental car. Actually the driver didn't ask for anything, just loaded up everybody's luggage and drove us to the port.

We used Gold coast car rental.....just called them when we got to the airport and they immediately sent over a van.....actually, they sent 2 since there were 8 of us and a ton of luggage. We rented a van. Unfortunately all our luggage would not fit in the van we rented and hold all 8 of us so the gold cost guy drove all the folks minus DH to the HOTEL and hubby drove the van with all the luggage. We got use of the VAN Friday and Friday evening so all of us could tour and go out to dinner. In the morning DH took the VAN BACK and Gold Coast drove him back to the port. The rest of us took the free shuttle to the airport that the embassy suites offered.

They were friendly, not too expensive and we would use them again.
