If the Victory leaves from the West side pier in Manhattan it is about a 30 minute taxi ride if you are traveling during non-peak, non rush hour, about $25.00. You don't mention what time of day or day of the week you are traveling. If you are trying to get into the City on a Friday at 5:00 you could run into traffic - and then it's anyone's guess. IMO this is the most convenient and hassle free way to go.

Thanks for your reply. We are thinking of going on Sat. Sept 16. I don't know which pier the Victory leaves from. Maye someone could let me know.

Cate, see you are going on the Symphony in Jan. We are going Jan.20, 2007 on the Symphone. We have not been on Crystal Line before..any suggestions would be appreciated.

Lynne 59; we have only sailed on Crystal once before but absolutely loved it. The service is superior; the food is fabulous, in addition to the dining room, you have two additional alternative restaurants in Prego and Jade Garden. When we last sailed, the Casino was run by Ceasars (although that's changing but I am not sure when). We only went to two shows (on a 10 day cruise) but they were wonderful. Crystal is a wonderful crusing experience; more formal (even on semi-formal and casual nights than the mainstream lines). We also really like HAL and are repeating this summer. If you have more specific questions, jump over to the Crystal board; Kitty (Darcie) Judith and Keith have a wealth of knowledge and could better answer more specific questions than I. To the question at hand; on a Saturday in September I would think that as long as you get in before 4 p.m. you will have no traffic problems and should get to the West Side pier within 30 minutes. If you are leaving from Bayonne or Brooklyn it should be longer and a little more pricy but not prohibitive. If not leaving from Manhanttan, you might be better served arranging for a limo.

The Victory is docked on the West Side and a Saturday should be no problem, barring the unpredictable accident, but any decent taxi driver will know alternate routes.

Sailaway will be magnificent. Enjoy!!
