excursions on your own

Recommended Posts

Are there taxi's at the ports in case we want to explore on our own? We are going to thte Greek islands. Also can the crew on board tell you what a reasonable price to pay would be to get to certain destinations from port?

Depends on the island. On Mykonos, there is a shuttle bus to the area where you can get a cab ($4.00 each way). Or you can walk about 20 - 25 miniutes on a very narrow road.

On Santorini, you take a cable car or ride a donkey up to Fira (3.50 euro each way). Once there, it's a short walk to get a cab.

In Piraeus (Athens), cabs are available at the dock.
