What is best to use in port, cash or credit??

I'd probably use cash. We only used our CC in Margaritaville. I'd not heard much one way or the other on this here, but we just felt safer using cash. I think we ended up with some Jamaican change, but not much.

 

We also only used cash while in Cozumel. I'd read too many reports of CC numbers being stolen in that port to feel comfortable giving it to anyone there. But there were six of us, and we carried around a lot of cash because we had a lot planned in that port. And we didn't really feel comfortable carrying that much cash, but we had no choice.

 

The other place we went was Grand Cayman, and it's like the Beverly Hills of the Caribbean. The only real danger is that you might flatten your wallet there! We were there for a week and used both cash and credit cards. We had no problems. :)
