Booster seats

I booked an excursion with Reyno Tours in Dominica. I told him that I was traveling with a 3yr old and he said it was ok and that I should bring a booster seat. I figure we can use the booster seat on the plane so the seat belts could fit better. I am also thinking that with the luggage and everything the booster would just be an extra item we have to carry and I really don't want to bother.

Does anyone travel with a booster seat? do we really need it? For those of you whom have traveled with your small children do you bring the car seat of do you leave it at home?

WEll if it is a "booster" seat that requires the shoulder and lap belt it won't be allowed on the plane as planes only have lap belts. You will be allowed to gate check it however. We have done this several times and it isn't that big of a deal if you are going to be using the seat after the flight. Good Luck deciding.
