LeslieSJ Posted June 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2006 Hi - is there a website or other way to find out which cabins might be quietest? We're booking RCI's Empress of the Seas July 2007 to Bermuda and I want to make sure we're not right under/over/next to a nightclub or other loud spot. I've been reading that being on deck 9 under the pool is a mistake, for example. Anywhere to get good advice, other than a travel agent? Thanks! Bell Ringer Posted June 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 19, 2006 I find the webmaps hard to use, so stopped in the TA's office and picked up the flyer with the floorplan for each deck . I think they will soon be printing them in their booklets. Our TA has a stack of floorplans for each ship. ( that they took them out was a very stupid move- and they quickly found that out!) I assume you were looking on DEck 9at the Jr. Suites...yes, they are under the pool area- where I certainly wouldn't want to be!
ZoeyZoo Posted June 19, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2006 There is a floorplan on the RCI website. I just checked to see what was near above and below my cabin. Most of the stuff on the ship that I would worry about is on decks 5, 6 and 10 (clubs, bars, casino, pool, etc.). The main dining room is decks 4 and 5 in the aft. Double check that you are not right next to, above or below these areas if you are concerned.
JeanneII Posted June 20, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 20, 2006 Under the pool deck might be noisy. We had an aft jr. suite above the ping-pong/mini-golf area and below more cabins. We never heard anything from above, below, and there was never any foot traffic in the hall. Of course, the trade-off was having a long walk to just about everything.
