katree Posted June 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2006 Has anyone else used the train to get to Seattle for a cruise instead of flying? I've looked at a map, and the station and pier don't seem that far apart, but I'm wondering if there is a bus, shuttle, etc. between them. love2cruiseseattle Posted June 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2006 Pier 30 is located in the industrial/shipping area of the piers south of the city. If you really really really wanted to save a buck you can walk (I wouldn't, not the best part of town) If it were me I would pay and catch a taxi, shouldn't be more than $10 with tip. Pier 66 is located in the main waterfront area. There is a Waterfront bus, but I think when traveling with luggage, the taxi would be the easy way or you can walk, it is probably 2-3 miles, here again I would take a taxi. calikak Posted June 22, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2006 I agree with love2cruiseseattle, with luggage I'd take a taxi to either pier, it's just a hassle getting cruise luggage on the bus. But if I didn't have luggage, to Pier 66 I'd take the bus route that's replacing the Waterfront Trolley (which is now out of service). It's route #99 and it's free. Here's the route map: http://transit.metrokc.gov/cftemplates/show_map.cfm?BUS_ROUTE=099&DAY_NAV=WSU And here's some more info about that route: http://transit.metrokc.gov/tops/bus/waterfront_streetcar.html To Terminal 30, there is no bus service, so it's taxi or walk. momthecruisedirector Posted June 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2006 I would take a cab. There is a cab phone at the west exit of the train station. They will pick you up right outside the door practically, in Qwest Field football stadium parking lot. It'll be a 10 minute cab ride with traffic and well worth the $10 or so.
