w0209666 Posted June 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2006 I will be taking my second cruise next month with my mother. I am so excited. I am trying to get my fiance to buy me a massage on the boat as a birthday present since we are leaving four days after my birthday. I was just wondering if there was anywhere that I could find the prices to the different services that the spa offers. Also, is there any way for him to purchase this for me before we get on the boat? If he just gives me the money for it, no telling what I might find to spend it on.....Thanks, Jamie

Make sure you tell them before you go in for your appointment what service you are getting and how much its going to cost. Then go and have it done, then while in the massage room, just tell the lady not to talk to you about products, youre only there to relax. Wennfred Posted June 23, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 23, 2006 Should I just get a massage before I go??? Now I am a little scared! Alittle about my story real quick, basically Wendy went in for a basic massage, I dont remember the price, probably 94.00 and when we got the bill it was something like 215.00:confused: Turns out she didnt know that they were adding more to the service, Wendy didnt know to ask if that and this was included as they were doing it. So thats why I say make sure you go over the service you are about to get before you go into the room and then go over the price again. Wendy didn't go for the High Pressure Sales pitch, their products run upwards to 300.00 plus. Im not sure where you are going but we just came from Costa Maya back in March and we got some killer 45 minute massages for 15.00, so for sure check the ports section of Cruise Critic, most people post about massages there. Curt Jerome Wild Posted June 23, 2006 #6 Share Posted June 23, 2006 They also have specials and it's less expensive on port days. They also have good ones in Puerto Vallarta at the Krystal Hotel
w0209666 Posted June 24, 2006 Author #7 Share Posted June 24, 2006 We are going to Cozumel and Calica/Playa Del Carmen. It would be bad if I got stiffed, but I would be really upset if my mom ended up with a charge like that. This is her first time cruising and I really want her to enjoy it. It would be awesome if we could get a massage at one of the ports. Anyone heard of any good deals on massages in these ports? Jamie
Irish708 Posted June 24, 2006 #8 Share Posted June 24, 2006 Want to book something for my husband and 15 year old son, when we are on the Imagination. So, is the best bet to book this right after we come back from an excursion ? Can you book it a few days in advance ? Also, a post on another board stated it gets cheaper the last day of the cruise. When really is the best ( cheapest) time to book ? Thanks for the tips on their sales pitches and added expenses:p I'll warn the menfolk :)
