crazidude1400 Posted June 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2006 Does Carnival do anything different to celebrate holidays like Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Christmas, New Years, etc?
Curt Jerome Wild Posted June 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2006 It totally depends on the ship, the Cruise Director at the time, and the specific holiday. This is what I've experienced: Fourth of July, not so much. Christmastime, I've seen lots of beautiful decorations. Halloween (twice) I've seen parties, costume contests, lots of cruiser participation. New Years, parties, etc. So, there's a general answer to start you off... rhecker Posted June 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2006 we cruised on the conquest a couple of years ago for New Year's eve. The had a fabulous party on the pool deck. They even built a bandstand a had a live band. They passed out free champagne. It was pretty unlimited. They sounded the ships horn at midnight. It was alot of fun. It was almost like another formal night as most people were dressed to the max. They also had the kids slumber party so the adults could party as late as they wanted to. I believe they also had free champagne in all the bars.
lmondrop Posted June 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2006 I'm not sure about Carnival but we cruised on NCl for New Years 2003 and they had a wonderful party on the pool deck and they made champagne glass towers inside the jacuzzi's with a big screen tv showing the ball drop in Times square as well as our port of call for New Years day was St. Lucia so the captain was full speed ahead to get to the island by midnight so we could all see the fireworks from the boat...there were many boats stopped in the middle of the ocean just close enough to see the fireworks from the island, including Carnival, Royal carribean and Princess. as for 4th of July this will be my first time...I'll let you know when I return :p
