Boatswain's Beach caymans

Hum, wonder how this will affect the Captain Marvin's tour that includes the turtle farm. I agree it is pricey. Know Cannakkaab (sp? hehe) was trashed during the hurricane but for not much more you could get full use of the park and swim with the sea lions for about $60.

How does caymen money compare to us? 2 websites have said it is $60 u.s. to spend the day there.

When we were there this past January, the exchange rate was 80 cents US to each Cayman dollar. Many times they gave us change in Cayman money, but we usually asked if we could have US dollars or change and if they had it, they gave it to us. For the most part we used credit cards.

If you eat anywhere, make sure and check your ticket so you don't double tip. Almost every restaurant or bar will tack on a 15% tip.

Currency rates fluctuate, but you might want to check and figure out whether it is better to pay in one currency or the other - especially for large purchases. Rairly will a local biz give you the exact exchange rate.

For example, today $1 US was worth about $0.85 Cayman dollars or $1 Cayman dollar about $1.17 US.
