We are taking the Rome to Istanbul cruise in June of next year. For those of you who went on this years cruise, could you offer some pros and cons. What to do and not do. How was it, etc? Since we have been in Florence is there anything at all to do in Livorno or nearby?

Thanks

I will be happy to share our experiences with you!

I highly recommend private tour guides - see so much more in less time - especially in big cities, Ephesus, etc. - not necessary for small places (Santorini, Mykonos)!

You can get other couples to join you to share in costs on this board.

Check back through the threads & you'll find a wealth of info on guides in the ports. Is the itinerary the same as this year (June 8 was our voyage)?

Siena is a good option for Livorno's stop. We rented a Hertz vehicle on the dock & drove through part of the wine country to Siena(stop at Ravella) - also Lucca, San Gimignano.

email me if you want more info & I'll forward our tour guide info & email addresses. alewis6088@aol.com

It's a great itinerary!:)
