This thread has been the most fun ... I think I liked Bama Cruiser's St Thomas sunset pic the best!! I also enjoyed (er, endured) the pics of the Elation going around (thru) Rita - thanks for sharing those!

This is my fav of my personal photo album Ecstasy in May 05. I couldnt believe how blue the sky was (is) when you leave the brown Houston smog!!

How do you get a picture to a "reasonable" size? When I tried to post mine (as a test, first), it is HUGE! You have to use scroll bars to see all of it. I know that is irritating, so I didn't finish that post.

I know there were no passengers on the Ecstacy when it was staying out of Rita's path.

I was wondering how many staff wanted off and to never get back on when it came back in?

That must have been like riding the worst roller coaster.

Night swimming??? There is no water in the pool! Who is swimming?

To Quote Jimmy Buffett: The sharks that swim on the land. I love the irony of that shot. Reminds me of the scene from Caddy Shack where Murray is at the bottom of the pool and picks up the candy bar and takes a huge bite, and then says Its ok its just a baby Ruth.

I was in the Navy on the Aircraft Carrier Ranger CV-61. During one cruise, and we were transiting to Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean when we had to pass through a Typhoon, not the middle but outer edges. The interesing thing was the ride was rough but not as bad as you would think but we did take white water over the bow 55 ft above the waterline, and I watched as the cruiser escort we had would submarine under waves, and take 20-30 degree rolls. That is when it gets hairy. The storm even bumped me out of my bunk on the Aircraft carrier one time.
