Pre Cruise Lodging in Hawaii

I have some questions about pre cruise lodging in Hawaii. My family is booked for Pride Of America, sailing 8/19/2006 to 8/26/2006 and we plan to spend a day or two in Oahu before the ship sails.

My questions:

1. Which hotel(s) are closes to the Pier from where the ship departs? And which pier or harbor is it? Or does it matter? Any recommendations? We were looking to spend about $100 for a night or two so I'm looking for decent, clean hotels under $200/night.

 

2. Approximately how much is cab fare from a hotel to the pier/harbor? Is shuttle service provided to the pier?

 

I'll do some research but I wanted some suggestions from previous cruisers (btw, this is my first cruise-:D
