fll/miami port car rental

I plan on arriving in FLL the night before departure. I would like to rent a car from FLL and drop it at the terminal. Which car rentals offer drop off at the Miami terminal. Upon return, I read somewhere that they will send a car for you. Is that correct?

Donna, There are NO car rental drop-offs at the Port of Miami. Avis and Hertz both have locations in downtown Miami 5 minutes away where you can drop off your rental and take a cab to the port.

I am now thinking of spending the night near the FLL airport and then arranging a shared limo to the dock in the morning. Has anyone shared a limo? I read on this board it would run @$17 pp.

Actually it's a shared ride shuttle van and it runs $18 per person.

Hertz has a free shuttle. I have used It.call them to check
