Has anyone eaten at the Lighthouse Restaurant?

Has anyone eaten at the Lighthouse restaurant? Was it neat? Tell me about it.

The Lighthouse is one of the best of Cayman's restaurant offerings. It is located on the south shore in the area of Breaker's and commands a beautiful view of the sea.

 

The food is, as to be expected, excellent. The wine selection is fairly impressive from what I recall.

 

The Lighthouse has been a favorite of stay-over tourists and island residents for years. It's distance from Georgetown limits the appeal to the cruise ship traffic. They do serve lunch, but The Lighthouse is usually regarded as a special evening out.

I found smoothies on the menu. If we stop off in the afternoon with kids and shorts, are we inappropriate? Is it too high scale of a restaurant to do this? We are mostly just wanting to see the inside of the Lighthouse.

My husband have I have spent many weeks on Grand Cayman and this is by far one of the nicest restaurants on the island -- on any island -- it's wonderful!

Does the inside still retain some of it's lighthouse characteristics? Or is it completely remodeled only to look like a restaurant? Can you go to the top where the light is?
