RunningDeer Posted July 5, 2006 Author #2 Share Posted July 5, 2006 Guess I should have put where this boat is! :p - at the pier in Lahaina, Mauai
beachchick Posted July 6, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2006 In a word, FUN. DH and I did it several years ago. It's a real sail, not a "go out and motor around" or something like that. Pax are sometimes asked to help a bit. Some basic info: you will be barefoot on the boat, no exceptions; it's a sail, not a "cocktail cruise," so wear comfy clothing and expect to get wind blown and wet. One couple on our trip out was honeymooning; she expected a romantic "sunset cruise" with cocktails, a band, etc.; he booked this. She was not thrilled and was upset the whole time. Now, I can't really blame her for not being happy in the beginning, but she just complained the whole time. OTOH, there was a group of mature ladies travelling together that were great sports; they had a superb time. It was well worth the cost, IMO. beachchick
RunningDeer Posted July 6, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted July 6, 2006 Beachchick.......thank you so much for your response! This is what we're looking for ......just a wind in your hair outright sail! Is the boat docked at the same pier that the tender comes in to?
beachchick Posted July 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 7, 2006 Yes it is. Just hang a right at the tender pier when you step off the tender, and it's right there with all the other boats along the harbor. It sounds like you'll have a great time--definitely wind in your hair (along with the lovely cooling sprays of water). beachchick
