canadagal Posted July 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2006 Mahalo Sue! Great picture as it shows both what's above and below the new balconies. The new cabins look awesome!
cruiseej Posted July 7, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2006 Adding to Sue's photo from the outside, here are some photos of the interior of cabin 767, the center one of the 5 (just above the flag in Sue's pic). I posted these on another site during our trip last month, but I had meant to post them here and forgot until now. More in the next post (this site only allows 5 photos per post)... cruiseej Posted July 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 7, 2006 I hope those photos satisfy some of the curiosity about the newly added aft cabins. We didn't experience any problems with soot or vibrations (despite doing some serious rocking in 18-foot swells). The cabin was great, and we enjoyed the little bits of extra space we had compared to the other C cabins. The roomy bathroom and shower -- yes, I actually referred to a cruise ship bathroom as roomy! -- was a nice treat, as was the slightly larger balcony. The only negative I'd cite is the clear glass panels at the edge of the balcony; they should have used reflective glass to make the balconies more private, although it's really not a major problem since few people walk around the back of deck 6 (behind L'Etoile) below. -- Eric

canadagal Posted July 8, 2006 #7 Share Posted July 8, 2006 What was there before? A beautiful lounge/bar with huge panoramic windows and comfy chairs called the Connoissseur Club. It was one of my favorite spots on the ship. Pat
vaitape Posted July 10, 2006 #8 Share Posted July 10, 2006 Geez loueeze! Who did that silly remodel.......? Good to hear that some will request those staterooms but really, the lovely lounge "BD" (Before Drydock) was better, especially for those private parties. Kathy Z Posted July 12, 2006 #9 Share Posted July 12, 2006 Thanks for the photos. I couldn't help but notice the safe up on the top shelf in one of the closets. do they provide a step stool for using it? I remember tossing garments up onto my top shelf (I'm 5' 4"). Also they had to put the loveseat on the same wall as the TV. That leaves the bed as the only seating or lounging area to view the TV.
JPR Posted July 12, 2006 #10 Share Posted July 12, 2006 AAAAARRRRGH! Is there a replacement for the Connoisseur Club? That was my favorite place on the ship too!
flyerdreamer Posted July 13, 2006 Author #11 Share Posted July 13, 2006 No replacement for the C. Club. I never sailed the PG before dry dock so have nothing to compare but didn't miss having it. People gathered in La Palette or out on the deck or in the piano bar (though in there no view of outside).
