CruisinOnWheels Posted July 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2006 Howdy friends! Does anyone have an update of the condition of cozumel and the other western carribean ports of call from the Katrina damage? Are RCL ships tendering still at any of the ports? Also...can anyone who has been on the Splendour or Rhapsody recently confirm for me that they now have "lifts" to assist passengers with disabilities in and out of the pools? Any truth to the rumour that RCL also has tender lifts now to help handicapped persons?
PVDCruiser Posted July 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2006 I was in Cozumel last week on the Navigator. The Voyager and Freedom class ships are too large to use the dock. Smaller ships, such as the Jewel, have been able to dock, however.

LG123 Posted July 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 9, 2006 We were there last October and things seemed to be just fine. A little damage but of course they had all the shops open in Cozumel. We didn't dock in the main shopping part but down further so I can't comment on what the main part was like. Grand Cayman was also fine. Again a little damage but nothing that wouldn't be repaired by now seeing it is almost a year later. Glad I moved out of the Gulf Coast before hurricane season started again this year! Have a great cruise!
