CaptainChoppers Posted July 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2006 On our last cruise on the Dawn, we purchased a soda card. However, does anyone know if there is a card for smoothie drinks and other non-alcoholic drinks like pina coladas without the liquor? Thanks!:)
johnql Posted July 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2006 There is something called a "Teen Passport Program", which includes 20 non-alcoholic drinks, including smoothies. Here's the info, as posted on NCL's web site: Teen Passport Program (13 - 17 years of age) *Pricing is subject to change without notice Item #343 - $34.50 - 20 non-alcoholic drinks, including non-alcoholic smoothie in a 12-14 oz. hncg57c Posted July 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2006 Can this be purchased when we got on the ship or do I have to order it now?
Mis94 Posted July 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 9, 2006 Never thought of this, but could the "teen" card be used for the specialty coffees you get at the bar? I drank at least 3 of them on the Dawn, and at $8 or $9 a piece I should have bought the card (and felt less guilty about my expensive specialty drinks)!! roswellmom Posted July 10, 2006 #6 Share Posted July 10, 2006 If I purchase the Teen Passport Card for my 17 yr. DS, does that mean he can purchase 20 non-alcoholic drinks or smoothie drinks at any time. If so, he could share with my DD. She's 10 yr and that would give them each 10 drinks. That works out to $1.75 per drink and I don't mind that at all; especially since I plan to take a 6 pack of coke and diet coke for my kids' cabin. Lthouselady Posted July 10, 2006 #8 Share Posted July 10, 2006 I have read here that the adults in the party CAN use their teen's drink tickets. The bartenders don't ask who the drink is for. One poster said she was able to buy a booklet even though she didn't have a teen travelling with her, another said she could not. I think it depends on the bartender. Someone else posted that it is best to buy the booklets onboard (as opposed to pre-cruise) because then there are no taxes. I have read that the tickets can be used for smoothies, slushies, and cans of soda, but I have not heard anything about fancy coffee drinks. I'm taking my three teens to Bermuda in August and plan on buying two or three of those booklets. Then, I just need to bring my own rum................(for me, not the kids. lol) ;)
Mis94 Posted July 10, 2006 #9 Share Posted July 10, 2006  wonder if they have the same thing for adults  coz I am not 17,lol ............... Forgot about the age requirement.... Maybe if we bought a card, offered a teenager to get us half the drinks and keep the other half for him/herself... That would STILL be cheaper than buying them out of pocket! :)

They don't like to accept them in the lounges or from the casino bar, at least from an adult.

Roswellmom, Your DD can get a pop card with unlimited soda. I think it's less than $20. Your DS can share with your DD when his 20 drinks run out. (Or you can pay $40.20 for an adult soda card and he can have unlimited soda too). If pop is $2 each, I'm sure he can drink more than 20 in a week. (I have a 15 and 11 year old, so we're in the same situation).

Thank you, So im guessing it would kind of be a waste to get both the passport AND a soda card, but you dont have to buy the teen passport to sign up for the regular teen program right? The teen passport/smoothie program has nothing to do with the teen club.... I really don't believe the teen passport dance is exclusively for the holders of the teenpassport.
