ocean.queen Posted July 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2004 I read a post that said the lifeboat drill on the southbound Dawn was at 8:00pm. We are doing the Princess 1 night add-on with train to Whittier. Just found out the train is not until 3:30pm to arrive at the pier at 6:00pm!!! Trying to figure out where to squeeze in dinner and be on deck for sail-away at 9:00pm. With boarding time, etc...best time for dinner is 7:30 but NOT if they have the darn drill at 8:00!! I'm responsible for a group of 12...can you help??
tadjr Posted July 3, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2004 If you get into Whittier at 6pm, you'll probably be on the ship by 630! It was only a 5 minute walk to the ship and hopefully by that time check in wont take too long. They moved early dinner forward and late dinner back in the dining rooms the first night with the drill in the middle. If you are just getting on board at that time, why dont you do the buffet the first night when you get on and then you should have plenty of time for drill and sail away. You didnt mention if you were PC or traditional. If PC and you dont want to do the buffet, just stop at the dining room on the way and see if they have something open for soon after you get on. That way you can run to the room and drop off, freshen up and head right back to the dining room.
ocean.queen Posted July 3, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted July 3, 2004 Thanks tadjr....we have PC and would love to take the other 10 first time cruisers in the dinningroom for their first night. Just wondered what everyone else did that arrived on the train that late.
