Hawaii Virtual Cruise on board NCL's Pride of Aloha by Cruise Critic

When Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of Aloha sets sail on Sunday, July 3 – after a splashy inaugural – it’s marking a couple of milestones. It’s the first ship in NCL America’s U.S.-registered fleet. It’s also the first cruise ship to sail Honolulu-based voyages on a weekly basis – at least the first since the demise of American Classic Voyages.

 

 

 

And Cruise Critic will be there! We’ll be reporting from-the-scene – not just ship observations and experiences but also from the ports-of-call themselves, via a Pride of Aloha virtual. Port calls include, in addition to Honolulu, the islands of Hawaii (both Kona and Hilo), Kauai and Maui.

 

 

 

The virtual, Cruise Critic’s signature day-by-day journal-style feature, will begin appearing on Tuesday, July 6 and will run through Wednesday, July 14 (with a break on weekends).

Is the July3 sailing the inaugural voyage? What special things will be happening on Sunday the 3rd? I'm on that trip and this was news to me.

Just read your virtual tour on POA. We are scheduled on Pride of America 8/13. Just a few questions. How readily available are taxis at ports? We are 4 traveling together and would like to hire a car/driver especially in Hilo. Did you see others doing this? We might like to do the same in Kauai. Same question. Also on Maui how often did the NCL buses run from port to Lahaina. We want to do a luau the first evening so need to know how late they run. Do you need reservations for this? Also what was the taxi situation. Thanks so much for any help you can give.
