stingray tour question

The original Stingray City is 12-15' deep. It can be a shallow dive with the stingrays. The Stingray Sandbar was later "discovered/created", where you stand on sand in waist or chest deep water to play with the stingrays.

Most people these days refer to Stingray City or Stingray City Sandbar to mean Stingray Sandbar, not knowing there was the original 12' Stingray City. Even Carnival's excursion list refers to Stingray City when they mean Stingray Sandbar.

We booked a tour with Captian Marvin. 2 snorkle stops and stingray sandbar. Only 20 people on the boat. It was sold out for the day we were there. There were 4 ships in port at the time. It was GREAT! They had squid for us to feed the stingrays. the cost was $39 for adults and $27 for kids. A great value when you compare that the cruise ship charged $82 and you were on a boat with 100 people and only one snorkle stop. Highly recommend!
