marge57 Posted July 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2006 if we don't make reservations in advance, is it possible to get a tour when we get off the ship
momof4boys Posted July 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2006 I saw lots of people standing there to sign cruisers up to go to Stingray sandbar and swim/snorkel with the stingrays, Have fun!
caribbean dreams Posted July 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2006 No problem! We have always waited until we arrive and have always found wonderful people and great prices to take up to stingray city and most of the time they will also take you snorkeling after for the same price. Laurab23 Posted July 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2006 Thanks for the info. This is what we were hoping to do.Nice to know there will be people to take us to stingray sandbar without having to book ahead of time. Laura
tl&kcl Posted July 19, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 19, 2006 I just tried to book online with Native way for the stingrays and they are sold out for our date. You might want to do some checking on how many ships are in port on your day. :(

Middleager Posted July 20, 2006 #8 Share Posted July 20, 2006 The original Stingray City is 12-15' deep. It can be a shallow dive with the stingrays. The Stingray Sandbar was later "discovered/created", where you stand on sand in waist or chest deep water to play with the stingrays. Most people these days refer to Stingray City or Stingray City Sandbar to mean Stingray Sandbar, not knowing there was the original 12' Stingray City. Even Carnival's excursion list refers to Stingray City when they mean Stingray Sandbar.
ockelly Posted July 24, 2006 #9 Share Posted July 24, 2006 We booked a tour with Captian Marvin. 2 snorkle stops and stingray sandbar. Only 20 people on the boat. It was sold out for the day we were there. There were 4 ships in port at the time. It was GREAT! They had squid for us to feed the stingrays. the cost was $39 for adults and $27 for kids. A great value when you compare that the cruise ship charged $82 and you were on a boat with 100 people and only one snorkle stop. Highly recommend!
