There are a limited number on mini suites on the Emerald deck. These have a covered balcony.

On the Caribbean Princess, I was on the Dolphin Deck in 406 and it was grand. The balconies on this deck are not covered, but as you've probably read on other threads, it was not a big deal. As a matter of fact, I enjoy the sun, so it was a treat to be able to sunbathe on your own balcony.

 

For my upcoming cruise on the Golden Princess, we are booked in a mini-suite on the Emerald Deck so will be able to compare the "covered and non-covered" balcony issue first hand.

 

We're sailing the Caribbean Princess again in December and have mini-suites booked as well. This is my favorite ship so far ....

 

You'll enjoy the extra room in the mini-suite cabin ... that's a guarantee! :)
