hodok Posted July 29, 2006 #26 Share Posted July 29, 2006 Hello, Some sources list Celebrity and HAL as "premium" lines (not luxury), then Princess and RCC as "major or mainstream" lines. http://www.cruisereviews.com/ http://experthoneymoon.com/cruises-2.htm So far we had excellent experience with Celebrity. I am looking forward to trying HAL this August and maybe Princess next year!
Oppgaard Posted July 29, 2006 #27 Share Posted July 29, 2006 Celebrity is our favorite cruise line and have always had great service and thought everything about it was above and beyond what the other cruise lines offer. As of late, it seems that NCL has had the itineraries we have been wanting so have been on them lately with three more booked for the future. In September we are taking our first Princess cruise on the Star through the Baltic. We have always had suites on Celebrity and have really enjoyed the butler service. We are also in a suite on the Star but it doesn not have the same butler service but states that you have a dedicated room steward for your cruise. I don't know how this will compare, but we are willing to give it a try. The butler service we have experienced on NCL has also been quite favorable. We always have the attitude that we are going to enjoy the cruise, so we always do. Some are just better than others. If you go with the right attitude and know kind of what to expect, you won't be disappointed. I know one thing and that is Carnival is no longer an option unless they would practically give me the cruise. We were on HAL, also in a suite, and were not impressed. Cabin steward was so so, food quality average, and service in the dining room was below average. The concierge loung was fine but no complimentary cocktails like on RCCL. If anyone has any experiences of being in a suite on the Star and would like to relate them to me, please do so. We are going to be in E733, an aft vista suite on the Emerald deck.
