CrusinAgain Posted July 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2006 I just read on a Cozumel information site that the shops are generally opened from 9-2 and close from 2-5 due to their siesta. The shops at or near the piers generally stay open it says. Is this true for downtown Cozumel? That will take a large chunk out of our shopping time if they close down. cozgal Posted July 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2006 There was a time when that was the case...now, most shops are open throughout the day, especially those on main streets and near the piers. There may be a few of the smaller "mom pop" type smaller stores that takes some siesta time but you see that less and less. Reality is that many can't afford to close. solita Posted July 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 30, 2006 Most places that close here are stores like the copy store, utility offices, pet store, etc. Others stay open the whole day.
