frcia Posted July 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2004 What water sports are available on the island?
gouchert Posted July 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2004 Parasailing, jet skis, snorkeling equipment, floating mats -- in my opinion the best way to enjoy the warm, calm waters.

julieds Posted July 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2004 Also sea kayaks, banana boat rides, and sail boats, all of which looked like fun, though we agree w/gouchert--floating lazily on a beach mat is the best. We were there last week (sigh....) and yearn to go back asap! One hint: if you want to avoid the crowds, keep walking past the main beach area. Just past the watersports/jetskis area, there's a loooong, relatively empty beach with lots of lounge chairs, hammocks, and shade. Most of the people on our cruise never got that far, but there is a small beach bar, a stand where you can rent floating mats, and restrooms nearby. (And it's not a long walk back to the barbecue area for lunch.) We snagged two lounge chairs in the shade between two hammocks and were VERY happy campers that day!
