Hi all,

We seem to have a dumb T/A as he claims to have no knowledge of said book. My wife found the list of the coupons and is interested in only 4 0r 5 of them. If you have any of them please let us know and we can make arrangements to get them via snail mail. She is willing to send a SASE if need be. These the coupons she is interested in:

1. Free Carnival Souvenir Glass: Purchase any frozen drink to receive the free glass.

2. Complimentary $5 "Free-Play" Chip: "Free Play" chip good for one play on any even money bet on blackjack, roulette or craps.

3. Free Book: Purchase a bathrobe from the Formalities shop and receive "Carnival Towel Creations" for free.

4. Spa Savings:

a. 20% off Spa Treatment: Book a Le Therapie Hydralift Facial or Elemis Stone Therapy while ship is in port and save 20%

b. $99 Spa Treatment: Choose a lorithermie or Aromaspa Ocean Wrap for $99 while ship is in port

Thanks

If you buy the drink of the day, you get the glass. If you buy specific drinks in the casino, you get the chip.

I didn't know about the coupons, just happened to get these things for free.

If you make friends with a bartender and forget to bring your souvenir glass, they will give you a "refill" in another glass. I have quite a collection.:p

My wife was mostly interested in the robe and spa stuff. She informed me that she WILL BE BUYING a robe this cruise and I remembered the coupon for the free book with the purchase of a robe. When she saw the spa coupons she went nuts....I think those coupons just might blow my budget for the trip. I had already gotten her to cut way down on the photos, told her she was allowed 1 photo this trip:rolleyes: and if she wanted more she had to earn the money on her ebay business which she has. But I think she'll stick with the 1 photo and spend that money on a few rings in cozumel. she has been "shopping" via the internet and requested catalogs from the shops there and practicing her hanggling skills. Breakfast can be a struggle sometimes when she is practicing her haggling skills, who knew eggs were so costly:confused: .

As for the glasses, she learned real quick on the last cruise to go around late evening to get them "free" ones people leave with all the other "free" stuff around the pool area.

Thanks

I keep hearing about these - where besides e-bay and on this board do people get them from? And if I want one, where do I find the listing of what coupons come in it? Thanks in advance!

I'd be interested also in receiving these. Sorry to post in here, but never thought about asking for them. Just figured if my TA got one they'd give it to me.

I would like to get the "Receive the 'Buffets of Carnival' cookbook free w/the purchase of the 'Carnival Experience' cookbook from the Formalities Shop" coupon

My 17 year old son is studing to be a chef and I would like to get him these books.:)

Good for your son! I wish him the best. (I'm a retired chef from N.O.) If you purchase the set of three Carnival cookbooks, you already get a savings. (I have yet to understand why they sell them only in the Formalities Shop instead of the gift shop....many folks have no idea they even have them for sale.) Duh Carnival.

As far as MOST of the coupons, they are worth little. Most of the coupons are for things that are already either complimentary or on sale while on the cruise. You do keep the souvenier glass by buying the drink anyway, so how silly to have a coupon for that in the book. Spa specials are advertised every day of the cruise, and the port day specials are really good deals.

Yes, you can buy them on the ship. I really don't remember the exact cost, and I was going to buy only the two cookbooks, but by buying the cocktail book, I got a little break in price on all three.

Cheryl, Loved your pics of the bridge. Is this something everyone can do? I would love to see the bridge. Also can you tell me if the cabin doors are made of wood or metal? I am wanting to make a door sign for our cabin.

Thanks so much!

The bridge was a big treat for my son Nathan (who is learning disabled - PDD NOS). Carnival surprised him after I wrote a letter requesting information about a model ship, explaining his situation and that he LOVES cruising. It was one of the many great things Carnival did for him that week. Gotta LOVE Carnival. I'm sure others have been on the bridge but they don't give regular tours. This happened about 4 months after the Conquest started sailing and we were told we are the first "civilians" to visit the bridge. He was presented with a model - which was the only one for months according to reports from CC members who tried to get one themselves.

The doors are metal.

You may want to visit my website on the Conquest. Click the link below.

Cotton, I would like to ask you some questions about cooking. Can you please email me? My son is doing apprenticeship training here in Canada but was thinking about doing futher schooling in the USA. He will be a journeyman cook here next June.

I got one of these books when I booked with an online TA - I found the coupons pretty much worthless.

The only one I was interested in was the $5 match play chip - but the casino staff was all out of the chips! Apparently a large group came in and was awarded 5 chips each.

On NCL, all you had to do to get the match play chip was ask in the casino cage - they kept a record of who got on - limit one per passenger. There were four in our party and I was the only gambler so I got all four.

Anyway, I think anyone who pays $15 + shipping on eBay for one of these booklets has lost their mind!

Instead of the $5.00 match play coupon in our book, we have a coupon that says sign up for the Ocean Players club and receive your first 500 Ocean Tokens on the house. Does anyone know what that really means? Rlyans

Cheryl, That is great!!! I love it when companies take the time for children. Got to Love CCL. Thanks for the info about the doors being metal as well. I will get right on a door sign for us. Is anyone else making them?

Tina
