Conquest review July 23 - 30

Thanks for the review. We loved our Conquest cruise enough that we may book the Conquest again!!!

 

In Coz., our van driver (van big enough for the 13 of us!), Rafeal, was happy to take us to PB! After having read these boards for two years I was a little nervous when he was driving us and it seemed to be taking longer than I thought it should have. I kept watching for road signs, and when I saw one for San Fransisco Beach 2 miles----I knew Rafeal was jewel. He stayed at PB until we wanted to leave, then dropped us off at C & C, and wanted to wait for us again!! If you get a headstrong driver, don't take another beach for an answer, tell them no pay until you go to the beach you want. (Whatever beach that is!)

We were also on the Conquest Juy 23-30 and were shocked at the long boarding time since we had boarded so quickly for the Rhapsody. At the time, we were told that it had to do with an immigration check on the crew. Later we heard two other explanations: that there were arrests of passengers bringing drugs back into the country (though the CD said this hapens every week), and that there was a bomb threat and they had to check all the cabins (I find this harder to believe).

 

We were surprised at how many deck chairs there were. We also loved the blue rocking chairs!

 

It was a great cruise and I hope others who have yet to go enjoy it as much as we did.

 

We went to Paradise Beach and it was great. Did Mr. Sancho's last time and liked it, too.

 

In GC, we did snorkeling, stingrays, and Rum Point Beach with NativeWay Sports. Second time we've used them and they are wonderful!

 

Sunset Beach in Jamaica was nice but somewhat disappointing given the cost ($40 pp).

Great review, your T/A should have advised you that embarkation is between 1:30 and 3:00pm for ships sailing at 4:00. Conquest is notorious for late departures take a look at Galveston.com tomorrow around departure time if it leaves before 4:30 it's a miracle (sorry the Miracle leaves out of Tampa):)

Just following up... Sur Mer does also serve oysters and shrimp, but we're not sure about clams.
