Help!! Just booked Radiance 1600 - have question on balcony

Recommended Posts

I just booked the aft cabin 1600. But now I am second quessing myself because it looks like the balcony is open (not-covered). Has anyone been in this room?

Also by reading the boards here someone mentioned the room layout is so different that getting ready was difficult, something about the bed layout?

Does anyone know alot about this rooom?

Thanks

Here's a link to some shots of Brilliance 1600, which I believe has the same layout. The balcony is partly covered and partly open, which I really like. The cabin layout is a little funky, IMHO, because the bed, vanity and closet are all jammed together and it can be awkward dressing for dinner - in a cabin that size that shouldn't happen!

Other posters didn't like the bed placement, because it's not on a square angle to the ship, so when you're rocking, it's not a pure head to toe or side to side. I didn't notice anything, but we had smooth sailing, so there wasn't any basis for judging.

We really enjoyed the room (especially the balcony!) and would book it again. To be honest, because we get all the perks associated with a suite as Diamond members, we would generally book JS 1100 or 1602 over GS 1600 - usually it's quite a bit less money, and I like the cabin layout better.

We stayed in this cabin on the Serenade - it was okay, but I much prefer 1602 with the bigger balcony and better layout. Cabin 1600 does not have as much closet or storage space as grand suites on the sides of the ship. The balcony was okay, nice to sit out there if you want to sun yourself in private.
